UPDATE: Vaccinations and Immunisations from 1st March 2023

Posted on February 15th, 2023

In line with NHS Highland direction your GP practice will no longer be responsible for the delivery of vaccinations and immunisations effective 1st March 2023, including childhood immunisations.

After 1 March 2023 all vaccinations will be NHS Highland run clinics held in the community. Patients eligible for vaccination will be invited via letter to attend or book the appointment.

Patients can direct questions about child or adult immunisations to the NHS Highland Service Delivery Centre (SDC) helpline: phone 08000 320 339, Mon-Fri, 9:30am-5:00pm. It is requested that patients wait for an appointment letter before calling the NHS Highland SDC to make an appointment.  Letters will be sent to home address of child indicating the booking team and providing a local number 01463 709197 for appointments to be made.

Community Pharmacies will deliver vaccines and immunisations required for foreign travel. The details of pharmacies providing this service can be found on the NHS Highland website which will continue to be updated as pharmacies go live.

LATEST UPDATES: COVID-19

Kinmylies Medical Practice is situated on the western side of Inverness. We have two full time GP Partners; Dr Stuart Smith and Dr Liz Picton and a Managing Partner, Joe Reilly. We also have two Practice Nurses, a Health Care Assistant and five Reception Team Members.

We also have access to an inhouse pharmacy service, a first contact physiotherapist, a mental health nurse and a community link worker signposting service.  It is possible that the quickest route to your health care will be with one of these associated services and may be suggested to you by one of the reception or clinical team.

Kinmylies offers a full range of primary care services including chronic disease management, family planning and minor surgery.  In addition, we coordinate clinics held by our community midwife. We work closely with the district nurses and health visitors and have access to the usual community-based services. The practice is open from 0800 until 1800 on weekdays.  However, we have a restricted phone service at certain times: Monday - Friday from 5.00pm -6.00pm, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 1.00pm - 2.00pm and Wednesday from 12.30pm - 2.30pm.  The practice is open at these times but we ask you to redial a mobile number for URGENT issues.  If the query isn't urgent, you will be asked to call back.  Please also note that whilst our doors are now open during the day, they will be locked between 5.00pm and 6.00pm.  The surgery is open but we ask that you ring the bell for attention.

Kinmylies aims to provide the very highest standard of care to our patients within an effective, efficient, well-managed and friendly small practice. Above all, we value continuity of care. We welcome feedback and suggestions from our patients.

Prescriptions can now be ordered online. Please click on the 'prescriptions' link at the top of the page to access the order form.  Please note that we cannot accept prescription requests by phone.

If you require emergency medical treatment when we are closed please telephone NHS 24 by dialling 111.
